The mortar measures 10.5 x 12 cm with depth enough to contain larger quantities without spillage; the 15 cm pestle provides the leverage needed for hard seeds, dried roots, and thorough herb preparation.

Java teak carries a natural oil within the grain that makes it resistant to water, decay, and the kind of slow deterioration that shortens the life of untreated wood. No chemical finishing is needed - the wood protects itself, and deepens in colour and character with each use and a periodic rub of food-safe oil.

Use it in the kitchen or on the altar - this mortar does not distinguish between culinary grinding and ritual preparation, and suits practitioners who move between both without ceremony about it.
